Ashmore Group plc announces that Jim Pettigrew, Chief Operating and Financial 
Officer, will be leaving the company to take up the appointment of Chief 
Executive Officer of CMC Markets plc where he is currently a non-executive 
director. Jim will continue to fulfil all responsibilities in his current role 
until such time as a successor has been identified and after an appropriate 
handover period. The search for his replacement is underway. 
 
Mark Coombs, Ashmore's Chief Executive Officer, commented "Over the last year 
Jim has helped us to develop robust plc disciplines which provide a solid 
foundation supporting the continued growth of the business. The opportunity at 
CMC was unexpected and we quite understand the attraction of this role for Jim 
and would like to thank him for his contribution to the business and wish him

Notes 
 
Ashmore will announce its quarterly AuM statement in respect of the fourth 
quarter 2007 at 07.00 hours on 17th July 2007.  Preliminary results will be 
announced at 07.00 hours on 12th September 2007 and there will be a presentation 
for analysts and investors on that date, further details to be announced nearer 
the time.
